I was born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, but grew up in New Jersey in the shadow of NYC. The wealth of diversity, the colors and architecture of the city, and the gorgeous atmospheric lighting of New England all had a tremendous affect in developing my artistic self.
Married and the mother of 2 grown sons, I left a career in children's publishing several years ago to pursue my lifelong passion for art. Studying oil painting at the Ridgewood Art Institute under master artist John Osborne, as well as in Florence, Italy, with Rosanna Pinero of the Florence Academy of Art has provided a structural foundation for continued growth. I am fortunate to be able to work and grow among an incredible community of very talented artists - many of whom have become dear friends and mentors.
I travel to paint en plein air as often as possible to better understand the flow of light over varied landscapes and to capture the essence of diverse cultures. The experiences I've had and the people I've met have provided a rich point of view from which to explore my creativity.
My work has been acquired by several collectors, and has been published by Scholastic Inc., and Hachette Publishing.
